The Bergamo Brescia Cultural Ciclovia connects the two cities, Capital of Culture 2023<\/strong>, through a 76-km<\/strong> route that passes through historic centers, villages and cultural sites, offering a safe and enjoyable experience. In some sections, the route splits, allowing 13 additional loops<\/strong> to the main route to be explored, for a total of 70 km. The Bergamo Brescia Cultural Ciclovia was designed to be accessible to cyclists with reduced mobility<\/strong>, dividing the route into four stages of about 20 km each. Work was carried out to secure several intersections and install information signage with facilitated readability<\/strong>.

\nThe route has been adapted for the passage of<\/strong> handbikes<\/strong>, tandems<\/strong>, and electric<\/strong> wheelchair thrusters<\/strong>, paying special attention to separation from car traffic, management of elevation differences, width of the route, limitation of gradients, and homogeneity of surfaces.
\nEach of the four stages has at least one accessible accommodation facility, equipped with folding wheelchairs to facilitate movement within. Numerous restaurants along the route offer folding wheelchairs to facilitate the entry of cyclists on handbikes.
\nVarious points of interest have been mapped to highlight their degree of accessibility, with an available list of fully accessible places.
