Val Cavallina and Colli San Fermo: Nature for All<\/span><\/h2>\n

Northeast of Bergamo, the enchanting Val Cavallina<\/strong> awaits to amaze you with its natural and historical treasures, from the Lake Endine<\/strong><\/a> to ancient castles, from the Orobian Pre-Alps<\/strong> that embrace it to the fascinating trails that run through it.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most beautiful stages is undoubtedly <\/span>San Fermo Hills<\/b>, nestled on Mount Ballerino<\/strong>, a stone’s throw from the sky and the great lakes of the Bergamo area. Its heights give breathtaking views not only to the plains and Lake Endine<\/strong>, but also to the Orobie<\/strong> and, further afield, to the always snow-capped Rhaetian Alps<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Accessible Itinerary<\/h2>\n

In Colli San Fermo<\/strong> <\/span> you will find a loop trail <\/b>designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities<\/strong> and special needs<\/strong> as well, a trail <\/span>that will take you to the center of the landscape<\/b>. On the path’s solid concrete layout, preceded by an informational sign about the proper devices for walking it, you can proceed safely and fully experience the Bergamasque mountains.<\/span><\/p>\n

The itinerary was made possible by the initiative “<\/em><\/span>CamminaOrobie”<\/em>. In the mountains together with a different step <\/span><\/i> (2019) and the S.T.A.I. Project (2023), in collaboration with the Bergamo CAI.<\/span><\/p>\n

To begin the path, holding the side of the small <\/span>Virgo Fidelis Chapel<\/b>, take Via della Neve and go past the pond, which remains on your right. Continue straight past the restaurant and, after about 600 meters, you will meet a paved path on the right that climbs for a stretch in the meadow. <\/span><\/p>\n

The path leads to the <\/span>panoramic terrace<\/b>, from which you will enjoy a breathtaking view and where, thanks to the explanatory panel, you can discover the identity of the magnificent surrounding mountains.<\/span><\/p>\n

To continue on the trail, leave the terrace by exiting on the opposite side and follow the path that curves slowly to the right. Here, after about 200 meters, you will have the choice of turning left and climbing up to the <\/span>Giant Bench<\/b> (No. 97 on the circuit) for even more majestic views, or continue on the main route.<\/span><\/p>\n

This, after another 100 meters or so, will curve to the right beginning a slow descent through meadows and woods. After another 400 meters, you will be back in Piazzale Virgo Fidelis passing on the other side of the pond and heliport, and you can decide how to continue your visit to Val Cavallina<\/strong>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Driving up from the town of Grone<\/strong><\/a>, in about 20 minutes you can reach <\/span>Piazzale Virgo Fidelis<\/b>, nestled in the Berzo San Fermo Hills<\/strong> among green pastures, a small lake and a summer bobsled run. The yard has ample free parking. <\/span><\/p>\n
