For the festival “Onde Musicali sul Lago d’Iseo” appointment with Ensemble Neuma and Marcello Grandesso on accordion: on the program some of the best-known pages of the great Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla.
On Lake Iseo lights up the “Onde Musicali” festival, which reaches its eighth edition this year, offering some 40 concerts including classical, opera, symphonic, chamber music and more.
Ensemble Neuma and accordionist Marcello Grandesso, who will bring to life the event entitled Estaciones Porteñas: on the program are some of the best-known pages of the great Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla (the four Estaciones Porteñas, Oblivion, Adiós Nonino and Café 1930 and Nightclub 1960 from Histoire du Tango) and a composition by Richard Galliano (Tango pour Claude).
The project focuses on the rediscovery and enhancement of the music of Piazzolla, the inventor of the Nuevo Tango, revised in a classical instrumentation for woodwind quartet (Giacomo Barone on flute, Tommaso Gasparoni on oboe, Nicolò Andriolo on clarinet and Matteo Dal Toso on bassoon) and accordion that gives the interpretation a new sonic nuance.
